Lapidary/Silversmith is a great way to get your creative juices flowing. Members have a great facility to make a wide variety of rock projects, including things as small as a pendant to slabbing large rocks for mountain scenes, coasters or trivets. After lapidary class, students may want to be trained on the silversmith side of The Shop. There you will learn to create silver settings for gemstones, such as a ring or pendant. Resin turntables have become a very popular way to cut and polish rocks and make a useful item!
Lapidary/Silversmith members are a diverse group of men and women whose experience ranges from beginners to experts with extensive experience working with rocks, glass, silver, and copper. A wide variety of crafts can be created in “The Shop” including many types of jewelry, chain maille, fused glass, belt buckles, and resin crafts.
There are a variety of classes in several mediums. Classes are taught by member volunteers including Lapidary, Silversmith, Dichroic Glass, Wire Wrapping, and Chain Maille-Jump Ring.
